Getting to Singapore...

Next I'm going to introduce "Our one and only Budget Terminal"...

Maybe to most of the people out there that heard this name may think that this terminal should be a very broken or low class standard terminal that only for those cheap and unknown airlines.

Got to say "You are Wrong"... Why?

Because Changi Airport is the first airport in Asia to proceed and build a new terminal to cater to the booming budget travel industry.

With an initial capacity of 2.7 million passengers a year, the terminal is designed to provide a low cost operating environment to suit the business models of low cost carriers. The terminal, which has been built at a cost of $45 million, has scope for further expansion to handle up to 4.0 million passengers.

And all airlines are welcome to use the Budget Terminal. While air side charges such as landing and parking charges are the same as Terminals 1 and 2, airport related terminal charges such as office and check-in counter rentals, as well as the passenger service charge, are generally 50% that of the Terminals 1 and 2. The Budget Terminal is equipped with the following infrastructure :

18 Departure Check-in Counters
24 Departure / Arrival Immigration Counters
12 Departure / Arrival Immigration Auto Clearance System (IACS) Counters
7 Departure Gates
10 Aircraft Parking Bays
3 Arrival Baggage Claim Belts
Open-air car park with about 300 parking lots

Up to 3,000 m2 has been set aside for retail and food & beverage outlets at both the restricted and public areas of the Budget Terminal. There is a total of 13 retail outlets (including duty-free shops) selling products ranging from perfumes and cosmetics, liquor and tobacco to fashion accessories, as well as 4 food kiosks and 1 restaurant at the terminal. Passengers have access to a wide range of facilities, including free Internet terminals, public phones offering free local calls and television in the departure lounge. Passengers also are able to shuttle conveniently between the Budget Terminal and Changi Airport by taking the Free Budget Terminal Shuttle Service.

At the public areas, there is no retail stores and food outlets but only the "Han's Cafe". Where else there are still retail stores and food & beverage outlets at the transit mall (restricted areas).

Here are some pics

The check-in counter where passenger check-in and register for their ticket...

This is where this terminal is special about... Passengers are to board the plane by climbing up the stairs themselves... Sound interesting? Well, its really very fun and you will feel like you as if you went back to the earlier years when passenger are to do that or take it as its your private plane... haha... Maybe i think too much... The very right pic is the passage way toward the plane... And by the way, for Tiger Airway there is no seat given... The rules is "First come first serve", so who ever get to board the plane first will get to choose their seat first...

This is how it looks like in the transit mall... (the waiting areas to board the plane)

Maybe next time you guys can try travelling in this terminal... And mind you the air ticket is much more cheaper... As long as is travelling, who dun wan to save money on the tickets and spend more on shopping??? =)

Even though Singapore is a very very small dot that you see in the map but it does have eveything... Name it and you will get it... =)
The Singapore flag consists of two equal horizontal sections, red above white. In the upper left section are a white crescent moon, and five white stars forming a circle. Each feature of the flag has its own distinctive meaning and significance. Red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality of man. White signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant. The five stars stand for the nation's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
The lion head symbolises courage, strength and excellence, as well as resilience in the face of challenges. It is in solid red against a white background - the colours of the national flag. Its mane's five partings represent the same five ideals that are embodied in the five stars of the national flag, namely democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. Its tenacious mien symbolises resolve to face and overcome any challenges.
Vanda Miss Joaquim was chosen as Singapore's national flower from among 40 other contenders, including some 30 orchids.
